The photos in this set were taken during two different visits to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida. The general photos and the cockpit photos were taken at one time, while all of the exterior detail photos were taken during another visit.
This rare example of one of the U. S. Navy’s best known aircraft from the “between the world wars” period is an exceptional restoration. There are only two really noticeable missing items; the hand grip on the control column and the antenna mast on the spine of the fuselage. Otherwise it is quite complete and detailed with even the two .30-caliber machine guns being present.
Detail & Scale thanks Hill Goodspeed at the Museum for his assistance in providing access to this historic aircraft so that these photographs could be taken.
