A wide range of aftermarket detail sets have been produced by Eduard for their growing family of 1:48 scale P-51D Mustang kits.  Here, we take a look at two of their photoetched (PE) metal sets for their Mustang.

First up, #FE1021 is a simple, no-frills STEEL P-51D seatbelt set.  This set provides great PE shoulder harnesses and lap belts.  PE parts, in your reviewer’s opinion, represent the best way to do belts, and these belts look awesome.  They are all pre-painted and contain details including stitching, some nice shading/shadow effects, and the parts even include separate (and very small) clasps.  

Second, #481000 is the P-51D set and contains 46 unpainted PE parts on one fret.  This exterior PE detail set provides a range of excellent parts to enhance/replace the cockpit, including a new PE seat back and bucket, radio and battery details, rudder pedals, and some sidewall details.  This set also includes radiator air inlet screens, front and rear radiator assemblies, main gear well details and plumbing, main gear brake lines and scissors, and engine nacelle vents.   The detail on this set is also top-notch, and the fine texture on the radiator screens is exceptionally well done and very, very fine.  Eye candy!

For whatever additional level of detail that you desire, either or both of these PE sets can add some really nice touches to your Eduard Mustang.
