Foreign object debris leads to foreign object damage: real bad news if you happen to be a jet engine.  Ingesting even the smallest piece of foreign matter can produce a catastrophic death for a spinning turbine.  Jet aircraft can be particularly vulnerable to FOD when sitting around on the ground between flights, so intake and exhaust covers are handy deterrents.

In this set, Eduard provides four cast resin and 20 photoetched metal parts for both intake and exhaust covers for the Eduard family of 1:72 scale MiG-21 kits.  Up front, one big cast resin piece is designed to fit on the nose of your Fishbed in lieu of the kit intake spike (the 1:1 scale cover slipped over the intake spike but reproducing that is both impractical and irrelevant here).

There are additional covers for the air bleed doors beneath the cockpit, and one part to cover the exhaust.  For the exhaust cover to fit properly, 0.25mm of the tail needs to be shaved or sanded off.  The PE parts provide the grab handles for each of the four FOD covers.  Overall, these parts look great, and they will add a really nice touch to an Eduard 1:72 scale MiG-21 if that’s what the builder is going for.
